The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Noosa Exercise Physiology & Pilates is a NDIS registered business.  

Our pracitioners have completed specialist training to support the unique needs of clients living disabilities.

Our Sunrise Beach clinic has wheelchair access and facilities to accomodate our clients with disabilities.

Exercise Physiology support options include individual and small group services.  Clinic, home and pool based services are available.

 

NDIS – Exercise Physiology Services

The NDIS provides funding to Australians aged 7 to 65 years who have permanent and significant disabilities.

The NDIS pays for services or supports that enable them to play a meaningful role as a member of their community.

Exercise physiologist can be provided services under two support categories;

  • Improved Health & Well-being
  • Improved Daily Living skills

My Aged Care

Noosa Exercise Physiology & Pilates supports older adults through services funded by My Aged Care (MAC).

Relationships with local registered MAC providers enable access to the following funded exercise physiology services;

– Home Care Packages (HCP)
– Short Term Restorative Care (STRC)
– Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

Exercise Physiology services; clinic, home or pool based available.

Older Adults – Exercise benefits

  • Maintain functional independence
  • Improve aerobic capacity & walking duration
  • Increase strength & mobility
  • Reduce chronic pain & stiffness
  • Decrease frailty & falls risk

Exercise physiologists have expertise in the provision of services to ‘older adults’. 

Medicare

Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) can treat patients with chronic conditions and complex care needs upon referral from their normal GP via a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP).

 Medicare subsidised services;

  • Individual Allied Health services; maximum 5 per year.
  • Type 2 Diabetes individual assessment; maximum 1 per year.
  • Type 2 Diabetes group sessions; maximum 8 sessions
  • Follow-up Allied Health services (Indigenous Australians);  maximum 5 per year.

Private Health Funds

Exercise physiology services classified as ‘general treatment’ in the Private Health Insurance Act 2007.  General treatment is treatment; intended to manage or prevent a disease, injury or condition.

Services can include:

  • Individual services (some via Telehealth)
  • Group exercises services (maximum 8 people)

 

Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)

AEPs can provide clinically necessary treatment to eligible veterans (Gold or White Card holders) with a valid referral for services including:

  • Individual sessions
  • Group sessions
  • Aquatic therapy (individual and group)
  • Clinic or pool based sessions available
